AltaClaro Supports Denver-Area Law Students and Firms to Give Back to Legal Community

Denver, CO – November 10, 2020 – AltaClaro, the leading experiential training platform for lawyers, announces two special training programs that support new transactional lawyers in the Denver area and simultaneously help law students from University of Denver Sturm College of Law (Denver Law) and University of Colorado Law School (CU).

AltaClaro provides online bootcamps for transactional lawyers, who learn practical legal skills in a hybrid format through mock transactions and live feedback sessions with highly vetted practitioners. AltaClaro offers beginner to intermediate level classes in M&A transactions, corporate transactions and capital markets.

The Denver offerings include:

Denver Law Firm Program - For every two seats sold in AltaClaro’s programs to a Denver-area law firm, AltaClaro will donate one seat to an unemployed or underemployed recent graduate or intern/extern law student from Denver Law and CU Law. Each school can choose how to allocate its donated seats.  Though the law firm seats must be purchased before December 31, 2020, the donated seats can be allocated after that.

For law firms that are deferring their start dates, this is a great opportunity to run their incoming associates through AltaClaro’s programs during or after the deferral period so that they will be up to speed when they begin working.

Alumni Special Rate Program - AltaClaro is running two Master Classes in November 2020 exclusively for Denver Law and CU Law alumni at a steeply discounted rate (90% off of retail price) for up to 30 seats per school. Many recent graduates from both law schools have registered and classes begin November 10, 2020.

Brian Boonstra, partner and chair of the Finance & Acquisitions Department at Denver-based Davis Graham & Stubbs added, “AltaClaro provides our corporate associates with an innovative and effective training model that facilitates the transition to a law firm environment by preparing them for complex transactions in any industry. At DGS, we are attuned to the challenges that new attorneys face, and we want to set our corporate associates on the path to success from the start.”

Denver Law's Dean of Career Services Eric Bono said, “We want our students’ skills to be as marketable as possible to employers.  AltaClaro’s support gives our corporate-focused students complementary training for an added employment advantage.”

CU Law Assistant Dean for Career Development Todd Rogers concurred, “Denver is one of the fastest growing cities and one of the largest non-coastal hubs for the legal industry. AltaClaro is helping to prepare our students to obtain satisfying, meaningful employment after graduation and be as prepared as they can in this tight and competitive market.”

AltaClaro’s founder Abdi Shayesteh stated, “Because AltaClaro’s programs run lawyers through simulated deal work, we provide new attorneys the confidence they need to hit the ground running on real deal matters when the opportunity arises. Our goal is to make our experiential training courses in transactional law accessible to everyone - not just those who work at the law firms we serve.”
