Why Become an Instructor?

Earn Extra Income

It's a flexible way to earn in your free time.

Our instructor program is perfect for experienced attorneys interested in teaching or mentoring but who don’t necessarily have the time to commit to a full- or part-time adjunct teaching position at a law school. We provide all necessary materials for our current courses. Our instructors set their own availability each week with minimal commitment requirements (2 weeks per month with at least 3 hours’ availability per week), and can teach right from home. Of course, you can teach as much as you’d like beyond the minimum requirements, as well.

Our program also offers instructors a unique opportunity to join our community of practicing attorneys, gaining exposure and recognition in their area of expertise and forging potential referral and other networks.

Becoming an Instructor:

We seek dynamic attorneys who are passionate about teaching and mentoring to serve as Legal Skills Instructors for the online feedback session portions of our courses. Our Legal Skills Instructors are highly qualified lawyers in the course practice area who serve as contractors for AltaClaro on a flexible, part-time basis.

We provide our instructors with detailed teaching materials and simulation guides to focus their task on offering feedback and guidance on the exercise, engaging students critically and answering questions, and providing real-world examples that bring life to the pre-made curriculum materials.

All work is fully remote, and instructors set their availability each week with minimal commitment requirements. New instructors should have the capacity to teach at least one hour every other week for 10 weeks (plus 1-2 hours of prep time per teaching hour). Some of our instructors choose to teach much more.

Learn more about our current courses at https://www.altaclaro.com/law-firms.

We developed some relationships which will keep us coming back. I'm excited to partner with AltaClaro as they expand their capabilities and frankly, the need for training will not diminish.

After these courses, you could come into a firm on day one, start diving into the documents, and provide meaningful input to the deal team. While [other courses] focus on the theoretical or updates in the law, this focuses on the practical and gives you a toolkit to jump-start or refresh your practice.

AltaClaro's courses hit the right mark between being challenging and yet manageable for someone who is working while taking the program.

There is definitely a big need for this...Senior partners at firms are not spending enough time [on training] and most professional education out there is superficial.

I developed practical legal skills that went far beyond the legal training provided in law school. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to work on corporate transaction assignments that were similar to what a law firm would experience.

I think this is a gamechanger for training. Associates can benefit from the guidance of real practitioners and learn in a low stakes environment.
