BigLaw associates prepare for depositions with AI training tool DepoSim

ABA Journal published an article spotlighting DepoSim, our AI-powered deposition simulator built in partnership with Verbit, and the BigLaw firms incorporating it into their associate training programs. The article highlights Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, Taft Stettinius & Hollister, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, and Littler among the firms now using DepoSim to give their litigators structured, repeatable practice with AI agents playing the roles of witness, opposing counsel, and court reporter.

The piece features Chasity Thompson Osborn, director of attorney learning and development at Taft, who describes DepoSim as a meaningful addition to the firm's training options for younger attorneys. "This gives them the opportunity to customize the experience that they have and at the various skill levels that they have," Osborn told Law.com.

Margaux Trammell, chief talent officer at Brownstein, shares how the firm tested DepoSim across three junior associates, three mid-to-senior associates, and three partners, with feedback that pointed to the program's interactive nature and constructive feedback as standout strengths. As Trammell put it, "This one was unanimously received with a very high mark."

The ABA Journal also notes that DepoSim is currently one of the only tools focused on helping rising attorneys prepare for depositions, and it points to what's next for the platform. Our CEO and founder, Abdi Shayesteh, shared that future iterations may include AI-assisted training for cross-examination and delivering opening and closing statements, expanding DepoSim into the broader range of advocacy skills that define a litigator's career.

We are grateful to the ABA Journal for amplifying this story, to the firms whose partnership and feedback have shaped DepoSim into what it is today, and to our partners at Verbit for building this alongside us.
